Rectifying a communication fault in your meter(s)

The smart meter in your meter cupboard has a fault. This letter provides additional information about this.
Make an appointment to have the fault repaired free of charge
- Go to liander.nl/storing-energiewacht (only in Dutch) or scan the QR code in the letter you have received.
- Login with your letter reference and access code. You will find this in the blue box in your letter. This is not necessary if you use the QR code.
- Enter your details.
- Click through to the contractor’s appointment portal.
- Choose a date and time that suits you.
Please note: If your meter needs to be replaced, you will be unable to use any electricity and/or gas for between 1 and 2 hours.
Your smart meter has a fault
Your energy supplier is no longer able to read your meter. This means your meter readings will be estimated. In such a case it is more likely that you will receive an incorrect bill. Your meter needs to be working properly to ensure you do not pay too much. We will come and repair the fault free of charge. If it is not possible to repair the fault in your smart meter during our visit, we will install a new smart meter straight away.

Why is it important to repair the fault in your smart meter?

What happens if you do not have the fault repaired now?
In that case we will declare the smart meter to be ‘unreadable’. The job will be cancelled with the contractor and you will not receive any further letters from us in relation to repairing the fault. What does this mean for you?
- You will need to pass on the meter readings to your energy supplier manually.
- Your energy supplier will no longer send you overviews of your energy consumption.
- Do you have a dynamic contract? Please note: your energy supplier will no longer be able to use dynamic tariffs to calculate your bill.
- Would you like to have the fault in your smart meter repaired at a later date? Please inform us of this at slimme-meter-aanvragen.web.liander.nl. Select the ‘consument’ (consumer) option and then: ‘Mijn meter heeft een storing en moet vervangen worden’ (My meter has a fault and needs to be replaced).
