Avoid disconnection of your energy supply

Subject: Avoid disconnection of your energy supply

Dear Customer,

We tried to visit you today, but unfortunately you were not at home. There has not been a registered supplier of gas and/or electricity to your address for some time now. We have already written to you about this. No notification has been received from your (new) energy supplier confirming that you have entered into a new energy contract. As the network operator, Liander therefore has a legal obligation to disconnect your gas and/or electricity supply. You can find out how to avoid being disconnected in this letter.

Want to avoid being disconnected?

Get in touch with an energy supplier by telephone. Enter into a contract and ask the supplier to set everything up for you as a matter of urgency. Your energy supplier will automatically pass on your contract to us. That means there is no need to contact Liander yourself.

Are you having problems paying your energy bill?

In that case you should also contact your energy supplier and discuss what options there are for setting up a payment arrangement.

What happens if you do not enter into a contract with an energy supplier for gas and electricity?

In that case a Liander employee will visit you to disconnect the gas and electricity meter in your home. A charge will be made for disconnecting and reconnecting your gas and electricity supply.

If we are unable to disconnect the gas and electricity meter in your home, because you will not allow us inside for example, your file will be passed on to a bailiff.

Please note: this disconnection will apply for a maximum of 12 months. After this period we will remove the gas and electricity connection at your expense.

Yours sincerely,
Liander N.V.
